Stay On Track With ViaFit

ViaFit

Do you love the idea of working out at home, but struggle to stay motivated? Ever wish your food journal, training log, and pedometer could work together to provide you with a clear picture of your progress? ViaFit may be the solution you’ve been looking for. ViaFit keeps track of your workouts and integrates with your favorite fitness apps and devices. I recently gave this a try using my FitBit and Horizon Fitness U7 upright bike and was surprised by how easy and fun it was to add ViaFit to my workouts.

Easy to get started

Getting started on the ViaFit website doesn’t require any special equipment and is as simple as creating a user id and password. Once you’ve done that, you can start tracking your workouts through manual entry or by linking with your selected apps and devices. While you can simply use the website and manual entry, you can also link into ViaFit friendly devices and accounts. For me, this meant setting up my Fitbit and U7 cycle to upload automatically so that my workouts would record themselves. The automatic uploads made it easier to keep track of workouts, as well as allowing me to participate in more on-line challenges.

Stay motivated

I found that developing goals and participating in on-line challenges was a great way to stay motivated. Challenges, which ranged from two weeks to two months, connected me to a community with similar goals, including the number of workouts completed, calories burned, or miles run. With workouts that uploaded automatically, signing on and seeing my progress towards my challenge goal was motivating and fun. Another nice feature was the ability of the ViaFit platform to integrate effortlessly with both my FitBit and the Horizon U7 cycle. Whether I was lifting at the gym, running with my dog, or hitting some active recovery on the U7, ViaFit added my workouts into my log, allowing me to track my progress and activity.

Use with your food journal

Knowing that a combination of diet and exercise is the most effective way to support weight loss, ViaFit also includes a food journal through MyFitnessPal. Integrating the food journal and workout summaries in one platform allows you to keep track of the impact of workouts and diet choices on your weight loss or maintenance goals.

Automatically log workouts anywhere

ViaFit also offers a free app for both Android and Apple devices. The app supports all of the activities available on the full website, and adds the ability to capture workouts through the XCapture feature. This feature records your workouts based on an image of the console of your machine, making it easy to add workouts while traveling.

Time to get moving!

I found the versatility and many options of the ViaFit platform to be a fun and convenient way to add motivation to my workouts. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, establish a solid exercise habit, or benefit from the feedback and fun of participating in an on-line community, ViaFit offers options to keep you on track. I also appreciated the ability to change the privacy settings on my profile. Results are as private or as public as you choose, allowing for the feedback of your peers, or silently plugging away at your personal goal. Whatever your purpose, ViaFit is a great way to integrate the many fitness platforms available in one place, and to add a bit of personalized direction towards whatever goal you choose.
