How one man lost 45 lbs with this fun treadmill feature

My fitness journey began back in January 2014, I decided it was time to lose some weight. I had lost a close friend to a heart attack six months prior. And over the Christmas holidays another close friend (a few years younger) had a quadruple bypass. I wanted to get healthy.

A new gym opened up in Sutton, Ontario, called Back2Basics Health and Fitness. I met the two owners through some friends and decided to go check it out.

On Jan 29, 2014, I went to see them after work. I told them I wanted to lose some weight but was not familiar with what to do at a gym so they showed me around. I thought I would start by walking so they brought me to a treadmill with a Passport video system attached.  After that, I began frequenting the gym four or five times a week to just walk. I walked to the Grand Canyon and Vegas or to the Italian Alps. For four months, all I did was walk at the gym. With their assistance, I changed my diet and began losing weight. In the first 4 months, I lost 30 pounds. I attribute this to the Passport video system which made it enjoyable to use the treadmill.  As much as diet is very important, without the exercise, (for me the walking) I would not have lost the weight. I am 10 months into my lifestyle change and down 45 pounds, and the gym has just added four more videos from Horizon Fitness for me to walk to.

Thank you Passport for providing an enjoyable alternative to outdoor walking or a basic treadmill!
