DAY 6 – Outdoor Yoga & Swimming

After Thursday’s restful afternoon the women were up, energized and ready for action. Our plan was to spend the day down in Boulder and we were starting the day off with some outdoor yoga by the river. Once again the weather was behaving impeccably and we had bright blue skies and warm temperatures. We met our yoga instructor at a park I’d chosen, the Eban B Fine Park, which was gave us great views of the river as it cascades down the canyon into the center of Boulder. We had actually cycled through the park area earlier in the week and all the women had remarked how pretty the area was so they were very happy to hear that this was their yoga studio for the morning.

Our 1 hour session was a nice steady Vinyasa based class, it was a yoga experience deepened by the sounds of the river, the birds and the wind rustling through the trees, what better way than to be truly relaxed and at one with nature. With our yoga complete and feeling full of energy we headed once again to the Flatirons Athletic Club (FAC) and my plan was to allow the women to choose their activities.

So we had some heading for the gym machines, others the weight room, and a couple followed me to the fantastic outdoor pool facility. The pool is usually home to a squad of high profile professional triathletes who cruise up and down with ease. Thankfully however the pool was relatively quiet and so we were able to take advantage of some empty lanes and put in a good lap session, followed by a little sunbathing!

Once everyone was finished with their workout of choice, we headed into town and I gave the women an afternoon of free time to have lunch and shop in downtown Boulder. We parked on Pearl Street and all headed in our different directions, arriving back at the van a few hours later with lots of bags!

With our day in Boulder complete we headed back up the mountain to ‘Active at Altitude’ for dinner and an evening presentation on how to ‘Master your Metabolism’.

Just one more day left and we had a longer, higher altitude hike planned.
