Horizon Elite T9-02 Treadmill – Review
by Paul Maggiotto
The Horizon Elite T9-02 Treadmill is an award-winning treadmill from a variety of fitness equipment review organizations.
The Horizon Elite T9-02 is designed in mind to those looking to purchase a solid treadmill while still keeping a budget of under $2,000. Unlike some other folding style treadmills, the T9 boasts a 3.25 chp motor, larger 2.4” rollers and a larger 60” x 22” running surface. The larger roller helps keep the treadmill belt traveling smoothly thus increasing the longevity of the machine. Unless you physically lift the unit to fold it, at first glance this does not look like a standard folding treadmill.
While the T9-02 may not be recommended for someone looking to train for marathons, the unit weighing in at 275lbs creates a very solid and stable feel, for walkers, joggers and runners alike. This is due to the deck being slightly thinner at 3/4”, which increases the amount of vibration to the unit slightly. For avid and extreme runners I would recommend pushing past the folding treadmills in general and stick to a non folding unit.
In regards to the console, the T9-02 has a very easy to read screen with 40 different workouts to choose from. The amount of programs offered will maintain that your workouts are always varied thus tricking your muscles and helping prevent a plateau in cardiovascular increase. A secondary system called the Passport Player can be purchased separately, which will allow the user to stream virtual active workouts to a localized TV via wifi (pre-dsigned workouts all over the world that will increase/decrease the incline of the treadmill based on the current elevation of the workout).
One last noteworthy mention is the higher grade warranty that is offered on the Elite T9-02. Horizon backs their product up with lifetime on the frame and motor, 5 years on parts, and 2 years of labor.
I highly recommend the T9 for those looking to fall within a certain budget without sacrificing the overall stability of the unit.
