“It’s about making a difference in people’s lives,” says Martha Richardson.
Martha is no stranger to the fitness industry and has had over 20 years of experience. From being a certified personal trainer to participating in wellness coaching, she’s immersed herself in an industry she feels passionate about.
“If we can get somebody to start exercising, they can dramatically change their life. They can have a better, healthier life. And that’s something I want to be a part of,” says Martha.
Martha is currently a certified TRX trainer and spin instructor on top of being a store associate at Johnson Fitness & Wellness. She’s also a mother of two sons and one beautiful 17-month-old granddaughter. It’s hard to believe that she would have room for much more on her plate, but somehow she finds time to indulge in one of her favorite hobbies – cooking. Martha says, “I’m definitely a wannabe chef. I’m not good at it, but I’d love to be!”
Some of her favorite dishes to make include a white bean chicken chili and a butternut squash soup. Whatever she decides to cook, she makes sure that they’re healthy, flavorful and packed full of fiber and protein.
If you’re looking for someone who practices what they preach, you won’t have to look far in Martha. If she’s not busy cooking healthy homemade meals, you can find her cycling outside when the weather is nice or working out in her own home gym – one of her favorite things about her house.
When asked about what she liked about working at Johnson Fitness & Wellness, Martha said that the opportunity to develop relationships with the customers was her favorite part.
“To me, having people come in and saying ‘I’ve lost this much weight, my blood pressure’s down, and I’m off my medication’ is so rewarding,” says Martha. “It’s the greatest thing if I can get somebody to feel better every single day.”
